AVNER SOUDRY, FONDATEUR & PRESIDENT D’HONNEUR
A 19 ans il quitte son pays natal, le Maroc, pour s’installer en Israël. Après des études en mathématiques et statistiques à l’Université Hébraïque de Jérusalem, il commence une première carrière de scientifique, d’abord dans Tzahal, d’où il sort lieutenant-colonel, ensuite dans un institut privé qu’il dirige. Parallèlement il fait de la musique : solfège, production de voix, RINAT : Chœur National d’Israël, diplôme de direction de chœur de l’Académie de Musique et chef de chœur à Tel-Aviv. En 1993 il se tourne définitivement en professionnel vers la direction musicale qu’il avait commencée longtemps avant en amateur.
En 1996 il est élu chef de l’Ensemble Polyphonique de Nice qu’il dirige depuis et vient alors habiter en France. Titulaire d’un Doctorat en musique à l’université d’Aix-en-Provence sur l’interprétation et l’appréciation de la musique. Il dirige de grandes oeuvres en collaboration avec divers orchestres et chœurs de la région. En Juin 2001, il fonde sous sa direction l’orchestre à cordes Ensemble Instrumental de Nice (www.ensemble-instrumental.com).
Son amour pour la culture juive et le vide du chant choral hébraïque qu’il trouve en France, le portent à la décision de fonder d’abord une chorale hébraïque à Nice, Rénanim Nice, et avec elle, petit à petit tout le mouvement Rénanim. En 2016, il crée l’orchestre de chambre nantais Nantes Sinfonietta.
LE PRESIDENT DU COMITE MUSICAL RENANIM
La participation active du Prof. Avner Itaï au stage de formation de chant chorale et de Chef de Chœur à Nantes fin février 2014, a donné naissance à une heureuse suite : Avner a accepté d’être le Président du Comité Musical du Mouvement Rénanim. Ce comité vient de se constituer autour d’Avner Itaï, d’Avner Soudry et des principaux membres dirigeants de Rénanim.

from Europe and further developed on the ideological and cultural soil of Jewish Palestine and Israel.
Although he studied conducting at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, Itai began his professional life playing the oboe, becoming principal oboist of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.
Itai founded several professional and semi professional choir or Vocal ensemble. With Collegium Tel-Aviv ensemble, the last ensemble he founded, he performs regularly in Israel and abroad. He is particularly dedicated to his “Songs for Peace” concerts, which tour Europe and feature sacred works of three religions as well as an Arabic choir from Israel. Itai has been Israel’s foremost choral conductor for more than four decades. Avner Itai conducted most of the leading Israeli orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony, the Bochum Symphony orchestra (Germany).
Prof. Avner Itai is the head of the Choral activities department at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel Aviv University. Itai is active in the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM) and was the musical director of the International Musica Sacra Festival of Nazareth.
He was the musical consultant of the tri-annual International Choral Festival – The Zimriya.
Avner Itai’s repertoire spans from the early to contemporary music of the great western composers. A great deal of his activity is dedicated to commissioning and performing original Israeli & Jewish music, for which he won several distinguished awards. Itai received numerous prizes for his achievements in the Choral activities and education in Israel.
